sometimes i find some neat places on the net. here's a bit of a selection of sites i usually lurk that might catch your interest.

kinda disorganized right now but i will sort out stuff in the future.

  • RPGmaker.net - a huge database of games made with the RPGmaker programs, as well as other game engines. a huge majority of them are free, so poke around! you might find something neat!
  • tektek.org - a resource for GaiaOnline with an extensive item database among other things. even if you aren't a Gaia user, their dream avatar tool is incredibly fun for those who like designing characters.
  • The Spriter's Resource - a massive database of sprites from games old and new, as well as custom sprites and pixelart.
  • VGJunk - articles and playthroughs of video games classic and obscure.
  • Disgaea d20 - are you a Disgaea/NIS fan who plays Pathfinder? you're in luck. though still a work in progress, this site has a variety of races, classes, monsters, and mechanics to demonify your tabletop.
  • Gaming Hell - reviews, playthroughs, and articles on interesting and obscure games.
  • Hardcore Gaming 101 - absolutely massive, this place covers quite a lot of lesser-known games from all sorts of consoles. they've also got some pretty interesting articles covering game-related things.
  • VGMusic - thousands of MIDI arrangements of tunes from video games.
  • FantasyAnime - heaven for classic jrpg fans. well over 40 rpgs featured, each with content-laden shrine pages. also quite a few related goodies as well.
  • BoingDragon's Lair - if you're wondering where i got my counter from, here you go. free customizable counters, as well as some neat dragon art and photos, despite the site's age.
  • World of Spectrum - absolutely massive database of games for the ZX Spectrum home computer, most of which can even be played in-browser!
  • Sons of the Storm - various Blizzard and personal art by some of their most talented artists, including Samwise, Glowei, Raneman, and more.
  • HeavenGames - quite possibly a heaven for strategy gamers. this place includes info and map/campaign downloads for various strategy games, including Age of Wonders and Age of Mythology.
  • RareMinion - while not a very big Rare fansite, this place does include some very interesting things. namely beta footage and the leaked story for Dinosaur Planet. unf.
  • The Hive Workshop - massive resource for Warcraft 3 maps, both melee and custom. also features a variety of models, skins, and scripts to customize your own maps.
  • Jul - while i don't frequent it much, Jul is a wonderful forum centered around gaming and things related to it.
  • The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages - hands-down the best wiki for everything Elder Scrolls.
  • Nether Direct - formerly "Netherworld-Directory", ND is a joint project tumblr blog of sorts with another pal of mine, with a focus on Disgaea and other NIS games. features fanart, official art, some story/character info, and quite a bit more.
  • FYeahDinosaurPlanet - my tumblr shrine for all things Dinosaur Planet (as well as Star Fox Adventures and other cancelled Rareware games).
  • Crash Mania - fansite for everyone's favorite digital marsupial Crash Bandicoot. there's scans of a Crash manga if you dig hard enough.
  • DarkSpyro - fansite for all the various Spyro games, featuring artwork, walkthroughs, and other neato things. oh yeah, and Skylanders stuff if that floats your boat.
  • Abandonia - a treasure trove of various DOS abandonware, most of which are up for download!
  • Reloaded.org - site featuring a selection of freeware games, mostly remakes of retro games and other neat gems.
  • Mermaid Elizabeth's Microsoft Comic Chat Resources - what it says on the tin. client and character downloads for the IRC client Microsoft Comic Chat.
  • Adventure Game Studio - utility for making LucasArts/Sierra-styled adventure games. also features a library of games made with the program if you wanna play them yourself.
  • DKVine - fansite for various Donkey Kong games and related games. which incidentally includes various Mario and Rare games. go figure.
  • pouet.net - a MASSIVE archive of scene demos for various systems.
  • The Amiga Graphics Archive - a site dedicated to some wonderful pixelart done on the Commodore Amiga.
